Shockingly.. they have come to the conclusion that these Nightmist creatures were likely once trolls themselves. The Elixir of Vitality may have given them unending life in a new form.
That explains why no evidence of trolls were found within the Leren Chasm today. The trolls of the past evolved into something new.. the Nightmist.
