Equipment Set and Weapon Upgrade +10

Table of Contents

General information

You can upgrade each of your Set Pieces to level 10. If all 4 pieces reach +3 you get extra stats. This goes on until +10.

Note: You only get the additional set stats of the lowest level from your set pieces. The set pieces don’t have to be from the same kind of set to give extra stats.

You also get a small def boost for each upgrade depending on the set-piece level as well as on the upgrade level. So the additional def for each upgrade is about 2 ~ 20.

Example: A Rody Suit gives +0 725 ~ 728 def and would give you at +10 901 ~ 904 def.

How to upgrade

To upgrade your Equipment Set piece or Weapon you need to go to the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. First, you need 1 of 3 Power Dices.
(Dice 4 and 6 are droppable from monsters 21+ and Giants, and Dice 12 is dropable only from Giants and Bosses).

Then you need a different amount of Minerals and Erons (depending on the item’s upgrade level). You get 100 of these materials from one Catcher, when using an Ultra Collector.

From upgrade level +4 you also need a Scroll of SProtect(Cash Shop item) to save your item from breaking if you didn’t get the upgrade. (The Scroll of Smelting is a Cash Shop item that gives you +10% success rate)

Upgrade Pity

Weapon, Armor, and Accessory, general upgrading, piercing, and element upgrading use an Upgrade Pity system for probabilities. This pseudo-random system aims to lower the extreme variance of luck. This means that it’s less likely to get really lucky while upgrading, but also less likely to get really unlucky.

With the upgrade pity system, your success rate will rise with each failed upgrade attempt, until you get a successful attempt.

Mathematically, this system produces the same upgrade chances but provides a very nice safety net and is less reliant on RNG. This system is based on a simple Markov-Chain; For example, a 2% probability will begin at 0.062%, and go up by 0.062% each failed attempt. With this system the standard deviation for a success is +/- 17 upgrade attempts, instead of +/- 49 upgrade attempts with the old system.

The number of failed attempts is stored on the item, not the player. This means that when trading items between players, the items retain their number of failed attempts for each upgrade. These numbers are visible on the item tooltip:

Equipment Set Glow

Along with the bonuses, upgrading armor creates a glow around the player.

The higher the upgrade level of 4 lowest of the 4 parts, the more the armor glows. Starting at +3 the glow gets stronger each upgrade level.
It does not matter if parts belong to different sets as long as all 4 parts have been upgraded to +3 or higher.

When fighting you get a weapon swing glow.
